Julio Rizzo has been a member of the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra since 1990. In 1993, in the United States, he studied at the University of Georgia School of Music in Athens, GA, under the guidance of Professor Philip Jameson, becoming an honorary member of The University of Georgia Trombone Choir.
In 1996, he participated, as a teacher, in the Winds of the Moon pedagogical program of the American Wind Symphony Orchestra in Pittsburgh, PA. In the same year, he was selected for the second trombone hearing of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York.
From 1999 to 2000, in France, he studied trombone at the École Nationale de Musique de La Ville de Colmar, with Philippe Spanagel as his teacher. He has coordinated master classes and trombone clinics in Brazil, the United States, France and Argentina.
